Will assist with the Principal Investigator(s) in the development, organization, direction, and execution of research projects. Primary manager of multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional study(s). Performs all functions with minimal supervision while independently assuming responsibility for project management of research projects. This may include creating, managing, and updating timelines, budgets, resources, investigational sites, data usage agreements, vendors, and key project deliverables from project initiation to close out. Interacts effectively with project teams and cross functionally on a regional and national scale to influence overall project course and success. Assess project issues, propose resolutions to the project team, and then track implementation of resolution through to completion. May co-author scientific papers for presentation and publication. Ensures all study activities are completed by strictly following Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and all current local, state, and federal laws, regulations, guidance, policy and procedure developed by the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). Perform and/or ensure completion of various project activities including generation of tracking documents for internal and external evaluation purposes, managing progress reports, and presenting study findings internally and externally.
Evaluate assigned portfolio of cases for patentability and commercial potential. Development and implementation of marketing plans for selected technologies, including establishing initial contacts with potential licensees and partners. Assist with the maintenance of the extensive patent portfolio and routine correspondence with the law firms handling patent prosecution. Review and draft of simple agreements (non-disclosure, material transfer, etc.). Research deal comparables and assist with the preparation of license term sheets. Monitor existing agreements for compliance. Maintain and update all distribution list and manage all correspondence with licensed partners. Supervise 1 to 2 interns. Must possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Effectively communicate (oral and/or written) project-related information including the planning and leading of meetings and presentations and work with the research commercialization team and inventors to implement and facilitate project plans.
Registered Technology Transfer Professional credential is a bonus but not required. Graduate of a physical science or engineering undergraduate program is a requirement. Master's degree or PhD in health care, business, or science related field is preferred. Prior experience with intellectual property, regulatory science, entrepreneurship, or technology transfer is beneficial.
